Trusted Electrical Contractor in London

An electrical contractor can assess, repair, install, upgrade and test fixed electrical systems. Electro Conduct provides fault finding, electrical repairs, new sockets and circuits, lighting work, consumer unit upgrades, rewiring, EICRs, PAT testing, EV charger installation and related services for homes, rental properties and commercial premises.

Arrange prompt electrical help if you notice a burning smell, smoke, sparks, scorch marks, buzzing or crackling, hot sockets, exposed wiring, repeated circuit-breaker tripping or partial power loss. Do not keep resetting a breaker or using damaged equipment. Where safe, switch off the affected circuit and keep people away from the hazard.

Repeated tripping can be caused by a faulty appliance, damaged cable, overloaded circuit, moisture, a loose connection or a fault within the fixed installation. The protective device is operating for a reason, so repeated resetting is not a repair. We test the affected circuit and connected equipment to identify the cause before recommending corrective work.

Often, yes. A professional diagnosis may identify one damaged accessory, connection, cable section, appliance or circuit rather than a need to replace the entire installation. Wider replacement may be recommended where wiring is unsafe, extensively deteriorated, unsuitable for the intended load or affected by multiple defects. Findings and options should be explained before work proceeds.

Typical projects include additional sockets, lighting, dedicated appliance circuits, outdoor power, consumer unit upgrades, full or partial rewiring, EV chargers, smart controls and power supplies for security equipment. Before installation, we consider circuit capacity, cable route, earthing, protective devices, access, future demand and whether related improvements are required.

Simple work may be estimated from clear information and photographs, but fault finding, rewiring, consumer unit work and larger installations normally require an assessment. A site visit helps confirm the existing condition, access, cable route, materials, testing requirements and any hidden limitations. The final quotation is based on the agreed scope rather than assumptions.

Cost depends on the type of work, diagnosis time, materials, circuit condition, cable route, access, testing, certification and whether defects or additional upgrades are discovered. Fault finding may be charged differently from a fixed installation project because the cause is not always visible at the start. Electro Conduct is not currently VAT registered, so VAT is not added.

Small repairs or accessory replacements may be completed during one visit. New circuits, consumer unit upgrades, fault investigations and rewiring take longer and depend on access, testing results, property size and the amount of making good required. We confirm the expected programme once the scope is understood and explain if the work needs more than one visit.

Usually for at least part of the work. Safe isolation may be required before opening circuits, replacing equipment, connecting a new circuit or carrying out certain tests. The whole property may not need to remain without power for the entire appointment. We explain the likely interruption in advance and restore supplies as sections are safely completed where practical.

The document depends on the work. A new installation or significant alteration may require an Electrical Installation Certificate, while qualifying minor work may use a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate. An EICR is a condition report rather than an installation certificate. Certain domestic work in England is also notifiable under Building Regulations Part P and requires the appropriate compliance route.

An EICR assesses the condition of fixed wiring, circuits, consumer units, earthing and protective measures. Homeowners commonly arrange one when the installation is older, its condition is uncertain, before major alterations or during a property purchase. In England, private and social landlords must generally have rented-property electrical installations inspected at least every five years, subject to the report and applicable regulations.

Yes. We provide fault finding, repairs, alterations, lighting and power work, EICRs, PAT testing and planned electrical maintenance for commercial and managed premises. Before work starts, we can discuss operating hours, access, isolation, affected areas, tenant or staff communication and any documentation required, helping the project proceed with less disruption.
